Job Position: Pallet Sorter
Location: Richmond, IL 60071
Pay Rate: $18.00/hr
Shift: 1st shift, Mon-Fri, 5:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
Description: The Pallet Sorter is responsible for inspecting, sorting, and organizing wooden pallets based on quality and condition. This position requires working in a fast-paced industrial environment while maintaining safety, productivity, and quality standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, physically fit, and able to perform repetitive manual labor throughout the entire shift.

Duties and Responsibilities
Sort wooden pallets by hand according to established quality standards.
Inspect pallets for damage and separate repairable and non-repairable pallets.
Identify different pallet grades and organize pallets accordingly.
Perform quality checks to ensure pallets meet customer specifications.
Stack and organize pallets, lumber, and materials safely.
Assist with hand pallet sortation, lumber stacking, and down-stacking as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Follow all company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Perform additional warehouse or production duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and lift up to 50 pounds or more repeatedly throughout an entire shift.
Ability to work in outdoor and industrial environments, including exposure to heat, cold, dust, and varying weather conditions.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize pallet quality and defects.
Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with team members.
Previous experience in construction, carpentry, roofing, lumber, manufacturing, or other physically demanding work is preferred, but not required.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Continuous standing, walking, bending, lifting, twisting, pushing, and pulling throughout the workday.
Frequent lifting and moving of wooden pallets weighing 50 pounds or more.
Work is performed in an industrial environment with varying noise levels.
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particulates.
Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear.
Must possess good balance, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to safely perform repetitive physical tasks.
