Job Position: Material Handler

Location: Woodstock, IL 60098

Pay Rate: $18.00/hr

Shift: 1st shift, Mon-Fri, 7:00 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.

Description:

Come join a full service, globally competitive custom plastic injection molder located in Woodstock, IL as a material handler. This job consists of loading, unloading, moving, and coordinating the flow of materials within the production area to ensure the continuous production of goods.

We are looking for someone to work the first shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:20 a.m. with overtime available on weekends when needed.

Material Handler Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in set-up, verify hoppers are properly cleaned and that material issued for job conforms to specifications per Production Operator Information Book (POIB).

  • Load hoppers and maintain proper levels and keep dryers within required temperature range per standards located in POIB.

  • Maintain and clean/change loader filters as needed.

  • Examines incoming shipments of materials, verifies types and quantities, checks for discrepancies or damage and reports to Production Control.

  • Convey a continuous flow of materials to machines such as molding compounds, cartons, poly bags, skids, etc.

  • Maintain, empty, and clean granulators, and transport re-ground materials, scrap, etc. to proper holding areas.

  • Assist machine operators with granulating, lifting heavy objects, packing and counting products, cleaning around machines, and transports finished products to specified holding areas.

  • Assist in line clearance after job completion, unload and clean hoppers, and remove materials to proper storage or holding area, attaching identifying tags or labels with material type, color, lot number, and mixture.

  • Mix molding compounds such as reground, colorants, or additives according to formula or as instructed.

  • Operate industrial lift truck to assist in set-ups or moving materials and production.

  • Clean work area, machines, and equipment as required. Remove trash at the end of shift. Perform other routine duties as assigned.

  • Move or transport material from receiving to storage or designated area.

  • Sort and place materials on racks or shelves according to a predetermined sequence.

Material Handler Qualifications and Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be able to speak and understand English.

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds from time to time.

  • Good mathematical skills.
